John J. Sullivan, Ph.D. was promoted to the position of Chief Executive Officer and President, and appointed to the Board of Directors in March 2009. Dr. Sullivan joined us in October 2004 in the role of Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and was promoted to the positions of President and Chief Operating Officer in 2006. In 1988, Dr. Sullivan joined Varian, Inc. (a major analytical instrument manufacturer) and served in various capacities in Research and Development, Sales and Marketing Management and in Business Development until 2004. In 1982, Dr. Sullivan joined the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Seattle District Laboratory as a Senior Research Scientist and worked there until 1988. From 1976 until 1980, Dr. Sullivan was employed as an Analytical Chemist at BioMed Research Labs (an independent research and testing laboratory). Dr. Sullivan received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Western Washington University in 1976 and a Ph.D. degree in Food Science from the University of Washington in 1982.
Glenn E. Adriance joined us in October 2007 and currently serves as the Chief Sales and Marketing Officer. From 2000 to 2007, Mr. Adriance was employed with two software firms, Lakeview Technology and Scientific Technologies Corporation as Global Business Partner Director and VP/COO/Executive Officer, respectively. From 1983 until 2000, Mr. Adriance held various sales and marketing roles of increasing responsibility at IBM. From 1981 to 1983, Mr. Adriance was employed at Sandia National Laboratories as a senior Business Systems Analyst responsible for various business systems that were fundamental to Sandia’s operations. Mr. Adriance received his Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry from the University of Massachusetts in 1978 and his MBA from Colorado State University in 1981.
John V. Sakys joined us in October 2012 as our Chief Financial Officer. From 2009 through October 2012, Mr. Sakys held several positions with The Berry Company, LLC, and its predecessor company, Local Insight Regatta Holdings, Inc., most recently as its Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer. From 2001 to 2009, Mr. Sakys was the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Isonics Corporation, a NASDAQ listed company based in the Denver area. From September 2000 to April 2001, Mr. Sakys was Controller of AuraServ Communications. From July 1998 to September 2000, Mr. Sakys was Director of Financial Reporting for Media One, Inc. From December 1994 to July 1998, Mr. Sakys was an audit manager at Ernst and Young LLP. Mr. Sakys received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics with an emphasis in accounting from the University of California at Santa Barbara and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Garrett Krushefski is the Senior Vice President of Operations for Mesa’s biological indicator manufacturing facilities in Omaha, NE and Bozeman, MT. He has been involved in the manufacture of biological indicators since 1998 and has held various Laboratory, Technical and Sales positions during his tenure with Mesa. Garrett is a committee member and active participant with the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) in both the Biological Indicator and Resistometer working groups. He holds a B.A. in Biology from The University of Texas at Austin.
Bryan T. Leo joined Mesa in April of 2012 as Vice President of Operations for Instruments with responsibilities at the Lakewood, CO and Butler, NJ facilities. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Leo has served in senior operations and business development roles for manufacturing entities producing various medical devices, optical assemblies, as well as complex electro-mechanical assemblies for highly regulated markets. Mr. Leo received his Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, and his MBA from the University of Colorado.
Helene R. Leone was appointed Mesa’s General Counsel in January, 2014, having joined the Company in November, 2013 through the Amega Scientific acquisition. As General Counsel, Ms. Leone is responsible for supporting Mesa’s corporate and business-unit legal matters, serving as advisor on contractual, litigation, employment, regulatory, compliance, and other commercial and business related legal issues. Since her graduation from Rutgers University School of Law, Ms. Leone has practiced law in both the public and private sectors, garnering a wide range of tax, litigation, corporate, commercial and business law experience in her 30-year legal career. Prior to embarking on her career in law, Ms. Leone received her BA, with high honors, in Business/Accounting from Rutgers University School of Business, and went on to practice as an accountant, earning her license as a Certified Public Accountant. Ms. Leone has also served as an Adjunct Professor of Law, teaching at Rutgers University School of Law-Camden, and Drexel University Earl Mack School of Law.
Ed Morrell, Vice President of Engineering, joined us in April 2012 through the acquisition of Bios International where Ed held the position of Engineering Manager. Prior to Bios International, Ed served as an Engineering Manager at Bell Laboratories and UTStarcom. Ed has engineered and brought to market numerous instruments and electronic assemblies including: gas flow calibrators, electronic and mechanical assemblies for data and telecom transmission systems, thermal control and enclosure systems for electronics placed under extreme environmental conditions and power conversion systems. He is the holder of six US patents and has a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Science from Penn State University and a Master in Mechanical Engineering from The University of California Berkeley.
Peter Jung has served as Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy since February, 2016 and previously served in various Corporate and Business Development roles at Mesa since 2012. Mr. Jung leads the Mergers and Acquisitions process at Mesa, including taking an active role in most integration projects. He also is responsible for strategic projects and advises on organization structure, strategic planning, and new business initiatives. Prior to joining Mesa, Mr. Jung was with Young Innovations, a public company involved in the dental market. He spent 11 years with Young in a series of roles of progressive responsibility including Business Development, Product Management, Operations Management, and Business Strategy. Mr. Jung holds an MBA from the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Colorado College where he was a Barnes Scholar.
Jean Bédard joined Mesa in July of 2015 as Vice President of Operations of Mesa Canada with responsibilities at the Markham, ON, Canada facility and Vice President Sales – Global Cold Chain Packaging with responsibilities to develop that market segment globally. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Bédard has served from June 2012 to July 2015 as the President & CEO of Infitrak, a leader in cold chain packaging and continuous monitoring solutions and compliance services for the life sciences market. Mr Bédard was also CEO of Alternatives Technology Pharma (a cold chain solutions provider) from September 2004 to June 2011 and Vice President of Validapro Biosciences (a process engineering company for the life sciences market) from 1998 to 2004. Mr. Bédard received his MBA, specialized in Bio-Industry Management, from University du Québec in Montréal, Canada.
Thierry Dransard joined Mesa in April 2014 as Vice President of Operations – Europe, following the acquisition of the BI distributor for France, formerly known as AMILABO, the first international acquisition made by Mesa Labs. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Dransard held various positions in several international companies. From 1993 to 2011, employed at Charles River Laboratories Inc., he was successively, up to 2000 Director of Finance and European Controller, from 2000 to 2004 Corporate Treasurer & Financial Controller at the headquarters in Wilmington, MA, and from 2005 to 2011 Operational Executive Director for various European sites and European Financial Controller. Prior to these tenures, Thierry Dransard was a Financial Controller in charge of large projects in the Middle East and Africa for PREZIOSO SA an Industrial Painting Contractor. He graduated from ESLSCA, Business School in Paris in 1983.
